- Frontend engineer; zero prior SSE experience at start
- Wants system-design decision ability more than “hello world” demos
- Motivation: general FE toolkit depth (not a single urgent feature or interview cram)

## Teaching preferences
- Decision frameworks, tradeoffs, deal-breakers
- Browser APIs and integration difficulty from an FE perspective
- Keep backend only as thick as needed to understand the contract
- Course closes at decision playbook (lesson 5); no hands-on lab
