# Starting point: FE engineer, no SSE, decision focus

The learner is a frontend engineer with no prior SSE experience. Goal is durable system-design judgment (when to use / not use, browser surface, integration difficulty), not shipping one feature. Treat polling and WebSockets as known comparison points only if demonstrated later; do not assume deep realtime ops knowledge. First ZPD lesson: place SSE on the server-push spectrum and practice choose/reject decisions.
