# Starting point: FE engineer, zero workers, decision + hands-on

The learner is a frontend engineer with no / almost no prior Web Workers experience. Goal is durable system-design judgment for off-main-thread work (when to use / not use, which worker type, isolation and messaging tradeoffs), plus light hands-on — not shipping a production pool. Motivation is general FE toolkit depth, same spirit as the SSE track. Path: dedicated first, then shared; service workers as comparison only. First ZPD lesson: place workers on the concurrency spectrum and practice choose/reject decisions.
