# Starting point: FE engineer, zero SW depth, decision + hands-on

The learner is a frontend engineer with Cache API and Web Workers tracks already complete (or near-complete). Service workers have only appeared as comparison labels: “network/offline proxy, not CPU offload” and “common place Cache Storage strategies run.” Goal is durable system-design judgment for registration, lifecycle, control, and fetch policy — plus light hands-on — not shipping a production Workbox PWA. Motivation is general FE toolkit depth (GitHub issue #9). First ZPD lesson: place service workers on the worker/network spectrum and practice choose/reject decisions.
